GENERAL
Summary:
Greet patient by name and escort to exam area.
Take vital signs and brief history and notate in patient chart.
Remove sutures and assist with exam as needed, per physician.
Assist physician with any procedure performed in the exam lane as needed.
Keep exam rooms clean, orderly and well stocked.
Schedule all tests, surgeries and referral appointments to other specialists.
Get pre-authorization as needed from insurance companies for tests and surgeries.
Call patient and give scheduled time and assure that they have a return appointment to clinic.
Call in or fax prescription requests as authorized by the physician.
Return clinical telephone calls and document in chart and distribute as necessary.
Call post op patients as directed.
Have knowledge of medical office software for scheduling appointments and surgeries.
Order supplies make a list and maintain an adequate (30 day) quantity of all supplies.
Other duties as necessary for clinic operation.
REQUIREMENTS:
RN license in good standing.
Prior Electrophysiology and/or Cardiology experience a plus.
Computer skills required.
Previous medical office experience required.
Able to flex his/ her work schedule to meet the demands of the clinic schedule.
Must provide a positive image of the clinic and hospital to the community.
Work is fast paced requiring ability to independently prioritize work and meet varied deadlines.
Work is of medium demand requiring walking, sitting, standing, stooping and bending.
Must become knowledgeable about facility policies.
